Skye Sweetnam is a JUNO-nominated Canadian recording artist from Bolton, ON (about 50 km NW of Toronto). She was one of the many artists who contributed to the prolific pop punk rumpus in the noughties decade. Sweetnam’s debut album, Noise From the Basement (2004), spawned two Top 40 hit singles: “Tangled Up In Me” (#22) and “Billy S.” (#14).

The singles and album did well internationally. Second album Sound Soldier appeared in 2007.

For those of you wondering whatever happened to Skye Sweetnam, she changed her name to Sever and formed a metal band called Sumo Cyco which she fronts. The band has been independently releasing mostly singles since 2011 and launched an EP in 2013. The group’s music is available on iTunes Canada. Apparently an album is in the works. Sumo Cyco has a strong following and is currently on tour in the UK and Ireland. The latest single is “Go Go Go” (2014).
