This is not XP's fault. The next step is to buy a new computer with 7. You can get a new one for a couple hundred and if you need a great computer for tech then you can build your own for a few hundred as well. I'm sure there are techs in your town that can help you. Either way the rule of thumb is XP for old computers, and 7 for new ones.
